Jealousy is human nature. There are various expressions of jealousy, which can be divided into three aspects: shrew, scold and jealous. From the perspective of the development of Chinese history, the Wei,Jin,southern and northern dynasties are considered to be the most powerful periods for the development of jealous women. However, due to the strengthening of Neo Confucianism, the restrictions on women also increased in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. At this time, there are few records about jealous women in the official history. However,in the civil literature rising in the middle and later period of the Ming Dynasty, jealous women appeared in large numbers and became a reflection of real life. There are many reasons for jealousy, such as the relationship between wives and concubines, inheritance of children, property disposal and women's personality liberation,as well as the special political environment in the late Ming Dynasty and the husband's attitude towards his wife.At the same time, the existence of jealous women also has a series of influences.First of all, jealous women's actions will damage their own reputation and family reputation;second,in addition to being detrimental to family stability, wives and concubines are also easy to make the child vulnerable;third, because they are afraid of taking concubines after their husbands become rich, they will block their husbands' career. However, the impact of jealous women on traditional patriarchy made other women dare to pursue and express themselves, which to some extent promoted the awakening of women's self-consciousness in Ming Dynasty. With the rise of the new concept of women's history, scholars began to re analyze the image of women from the perspective of men. With the help of women's works, they corrected the deviation in the perspective of men and re recognized women in history. The emergence of jealous women is to some extent a manifestation of the improvement of women's family status, which changes the traditional view that women are oppressed in the family. We should regard women as participants in history, not as passive influencers, and understand ancient women more comprehensively.
