A Study Of Kabuki Instrumental Music And Its Application

Kabuki,as a traditional Japanese drama,is an integrated art form.Academia in China has a history of nearly 30 years research of kabuki,dabble in range is wide but lack of more precise and specific research,stay at the propaganda popularization,public knowledge level,especially for kabuki music still exist on the concept confusion,definition is not clear,and many other issues,the lack of a more precise and professional theory research.This paper will focus on two issues.One is the history of kabuki and the evolution of music,two kabuki instrumental music for the play of what role.Kabuki is the product of Japanese market culture in Edo period.In its 400 years of historical changes,kabuki has absorbed the singing and dancing,rap,music,literature and other dramatic elements such as nogaku and Bunraku.Music is an integral part of kabuki.Especially after shamisen was introduced to Japan,the essential development of kabuki changed significantly,from simple singing and dancing drama to multi-act drama with both content and form.Bunraku period,and the net glass art of mutual integration,established the basic model of modern Japanese drama.Kabuki music has a wide variety of functions,such as describing the story scenes,expressing the psychology of characters and imitating the real sound effects.It is the greatest charm of kabuki music to promote the development of drama and enhance the audiovisual experience of the audience.This paper will focus on the attempt to comb the instrumental music,subdivide the categories of instruments and their specific performance contents,make a reasonable analysis of the types of music used in different scenes,and then summarize the rules,proving that music has important value for drama.
