Research On The Interaction Between Emotion And Cognitive Load Based On Virtual Reality

The continuous development of the new knowledge economy has brought us a severe test of self-learning,and the accelerating pace of life has also brought greater pressure on people.The quality of people’s learning is not only influenced by the learning materials but also the emotions in the learning process.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the internal relations of different emotions,different learning tasks and learning efficiency.Cognitive load theory can provide a guiding research to achieve the above goals.In view of the above problems,this paper explores the interaction between emotion and cognitive load on learning efficiency under different levels in different scenarios.We use virtual reality technology to simulate real learning scenarios,induce different emotions through experimental design,and then asking the subjects to complete tasks of different difficulty levels at different emotional levels.Through emotional pre-sensing measurement,subjective psychological effort questionnaire,two main observations and main task completion time,main task accuracy rate,secondary task response time,pupil diameter change,four objective measures to analyze whether emotion and cognitive load have an interactive influence on it.We assume that color changes can bring about different emotional arousal.The above six measures can reflect the level of cognitive load,and thus study the interactive effects of emotion and cognitive load on learning efficiency.By analyzing the experimental results,we draw the following conclusions:1)reasonable experimental design can indeed induce different emotions;2)the level of cognitive load can be characterized by subjective psychological effort evaluation and secondary tasks;3)emotions and the cognitive load does have an interactive effect on the above measures,while other measures are also affected by one of the them.
