Artistic style is an extraordinarily integrated and inclusive concept in ancient Chinese poetic theory and it runs through the whole ancient poetic theory process.Therefore,it has an extremely important status and effect in the ancient poetic theory.However,it doesn't exist consciously and maturely at first.It sprouted in the Pre-Qin Period,the East and West Han,Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties,and then developed in the Tang,Song and Yuan Dynasties.Until the Ming Dynasty,it became mature and perfect.It has different meanings in different historical stage.Consequently,this paper regards artistic style as the research object,hackles artistic style in the ancient poetic theory meticulously,grasps the diversification of artistic style's meaning in different developmental stage and then to make clear the real status of Chaling Artistic Style Theory in the artistic style developing process.Based on this,investigating the artistic style theory of Chaling Poetry Sect's leader-Li Dongyang and its members and exploring the theoretical function and historical significance of Li Dongyang's artistic style theory,even the whole artistic style theory in Ming Dynasty.The introduction of this paper makes the research origin clear,hackles the monograph and treatise on artistic style and Chaling Poetry Sect,clarifies the research existing situation and research achievement and then indicates the research space and value of this topic.The first chapter of this paper cards and interprets the basic meaning of style and tune and also defines the meaning of artistic style preliminarily.Afterwards,this paper probes the development and change of artistic style's connotation so as to clarify the evolutionary process of artistic style in ancient Chinese literary criticism.This part is bounded on the Ming artistic style theory and divides the ancient artistic style poetic theory into three stages: the Pre-artistic style poetic theory,the Ming artistic style theory and the Post-artistic style poetic theory.The Pre-artistic style poetic theory part is divided into four historical stages: the Pre-Qin Period,the Former and Later Han Dynasties,the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties,the Sui,Tang and the Five Dynasties,the Song and Yuan Dynasties.The Ming artistic style poetic theory part expounds the developing process of artistic style theory and considers the Chaling Poetry Sect,the Former SevenPoetry Sect and the Later Seven Poetry Sect as the main thread.The Post-artistic style poetic theory part mainly explains the poetic theory of Shen Deqian who was the representative figure of the Qing artistic style sect.Based on the above,ascertaining the critical status of Chaling Artistic Style Theory in the whole artistic style history.The second chapter of this paper explains the Chaling artistic style theory under the view of entire artistic style theory specifically and analyses Li Dongyang's artistic style mainly,members of Chaling Poetry Sect concurrently.According to the analysing of Chaling artistic theory,making the crucial status and effect of Chaling artistic style theory clear,especially Li Dongyang's artistic style theory in the entire artistic style poetic theory history.The third chapter of this paper contrasts artistic style theory with vigorous style and artistic conception theory and puts artistic style theory into the ancient poetic theory background,analyzing and appraising the characteristic and value of artistic style theory.And then searching its practical contribution and significance to the Ming and Qing poetic theory.
