With the progress of society and development of human civilization, energy problems have drawn more and more attention. In the process of looking for efficient and clean energy, people discovered and utilized wind power. However,as one way of wind energy utilization, wind farm construction has had great impacts on some creatures, and even led to some extinction. This report is about a translation practice program, the original text of which comes from Wind Energy and Wildlife Interactions of the CWW2015 Conference,Chapter One,Part III.These conference presentations are typical scientific texts,in which there are a large number of terminologies, long and complex sentences and nominal structures. They are typical language features of scientific texts and form big challenges to the translator. However,Catford's shifts theory proves to be helpful for dealing with the above challenges, and offers translation techniques to specific difficulties. The translator used Catford's shifts theory in the part of case analysis, which would be helpful when translating other scientific texts. This report consists of four parts: task description, process description, case analysis and conclusion.
