Cooperative ability is an important ability that students should have,and cooperative learning is advocated by the curriculum reform in primary and secondary schools.This research tries to apply cooperative learning to senior high school English grammar teaching,and it attempts to arouse students' enthusiasm and interest in learning English grammar,to cultivate the students' cooperation sense and self-evaluation,to improve their grammar scores so as to construct an effective and scientific teaching method of English grammar.This research adopted the experimental method.Subjects in this research were 100 students instructed by the author in Grade One from two classes of Fu Gou senior high school in He Nan province.Class 7 and Class8 were the two chosen classes.Class 8 as the controlled class taught by the Grammar-translation method.The other Class 7 was as the experimental class where the cooperative learning was conducted.The research was carried out from 1th September 2019 to 1th January 2020,which was nearly a semester and lasted about sixteen weeks.The author used two questionnaires,two tests and one interview as instruments.And all the data collected from this experiment was analyzed by SPSS.According to the collected data from the research and its analysis,it could find that there is no obvious difference between the controlled class and experimental class on pre-test scores before the experiment while after the analysis of the post-test,English grammar scores of the students in experimental class got the significant improvement(P=0.027<0.05)and they have been improved greatly in learning attitudes and interest towards English grammar learning.Therefore,we come to the conclusion that cooperative learning can improve students' grammar scores effectively.
