Li Rong,a literatus of Jiange,Sichuan province,was one of the few senior officials of Shu area in the late Qing Dynasty.When he was a young man,he went to Mianyang to learn from Ye Hanpu,and then to Chengdu Jinjiang academy from Li Xing,who is a famous Confucian.Li Rong succeed in the highest imperial examinations,when he was thirty-four years old.After that,he firstly worked in the ministry of rites,and then joined Zeng Guofan's army with the help of Guo Songtao.In the next few years,he participated in the pacifying Taiping movement and the rebellion of the Nian.So,he was appointed governor of Hunan province.However,he was an honest and clean official,and fought for the interests of the civilian everywhere.Soon after,he was dismissed,and had to return home,then lecturing in Jiange,Jiangyou and other places for nearly 20 years.He wrote a number of poems,letters,missives,and so on,which were collected in the Shisanfengshuwu complete works.Based on his works,this paper collects a wide range of relevant documents,systematically studies his family history,life,and communication with the wise in the late Qing Dynasty,and comprehensively resarchs his poetry creation and artistic achievements by combining with the poetry circle in Shu area and its unique life experience in the late Qing Dynasty.This paper mainly includes the following contents:The first part is the research of Li Rong's family and life.The author mainly searchs for information from historical book,local chronicles,Li Rong's writings and related literati's writings.In terms of family history,after sorting out Li Rong's ancestral home and migration,the author mainly introduces relevant information of his parents,brothers,wife and sons.In terms of his life,on the basis of detailed research,this paper give him an overview in six stages.At the end of the paper,the author attachs Li Rong's new chronicle.The second part discusses the Li Rong's friends and their communications.Firstly,the author collects the main friends from his poems and letters,and then find out their original name,place of origin,name of the branch and official position,and compile the list of friends of Li Rong.On this basis,Li Rong's overall communication situation is explained,and then the focus is on the selection of its close contacts,have an important impact on his life experience,literary activities,and so on.The author also divides his friends into late Qing Dynasty famous people and local cultural celebrities two types according to their social status and historical impacts.At the end of the paper,the author attachs Li Rong's friends list.The third part is the study of Li Rong's poetry.This paper firstly introduces the quantity,structure and loss of Li Rong's poems,and then gives a comprehensive consideration of his poetic thoughts and feelings.On this basis,according to the theme of the distribution of responding poems,lyric poems,poems of recording feelings,poems of recording things four types,the author gives a detailed interpretation.Then it is extracted that li rong's poems have the quality of poetic history,and they are frequently used in allusions.In the end,it is concluded that Li Rong's poems have the style of tenderness,elegance and refinement.Li Rong was a celebrity of Bashu.His Shisanfengshuwu complete works have total more than 500000 words.But for some reason,it has not received the attention it deserves.The author read his works in depth,and does a comprehensive and systematic research on his life experience,communication and poetry.To some extent,it is a kind of enrichment and promotion to the study of Bashu literature,and it is also of practical significance to the arrangement of local culture resources.
