As economic globalization and regionalization have become the main development trend of our time, countries are becoming more closely connected and the cooperation and exchanges between emerging economies have become more frequent. As the world's largest and fastest-growing emerging economy,China plays an important role in emerging markets. In this translation practice, the author chooses one to four chapters of the economic book Emerging Markets Megatrends written by an economist as the object of this translation practice. This book provides an assessment of the megatrends that are reshaping the emerging markets landscape and offers a systematic analysis of the economic challenges facing emerging markets. The translation of the book will help governments, scholars and investors gain a comprehensive understanding of emerging markets and provide important reference value for them to make the correct development and investment strategies when cooperating and communicating with other emerging economies.Through the translation of the original text and the analysis of the language features of the source text, the author finds that the pronominal anaphora which is widely used in the text has become the difficulties in translation. As one of the important means of discourse coherence, anaphora can avoid repetition and create a more concise and efficient language. Therefore, accurate processing and conversion of anaphora in the source text can make target text coherent and authentic.Previous studies mainly focus on anaphora in monolingual systems from the perspective of linguistics while few studies pay attention to the combination of anaphora and translation. Therefore, this thesis takes anaphora as the research object and analyzes the translation methods of English anaphora from three categories: nominal anaphora, pronominal anaphora and zero anaphora.Through the case study, the author draws the following conclusions: 1)Nominal anaphora, especially non-repetition referential noun expressions, may give an additional indication of the description of the object besides the function of referring back. Therefore, the head noun of the expression should be preserved in the target texts to indicate precisely.2)As for pronominal anaphora, when the pronoun in English is close to the antecedent,or the pronoun is the topic of the text,it can be translated into zero pronoun. When the pronoun inEnglish is far away from the antecedent,or is not the subject of the text,or may cause ambiguity,it should be translated through the repetition of the antecedent.3)Zero anaphora is not common in the English text, once it appears, the distance between the anaphora and the antecedent must be short, indicating high accessibility of the antecedent, thus,it can be preserved in the target text.
