Promoting the professional development of English teachers in private senior schools is not only an important guarantee for the construction of the teaching staff and sustainable development,but also an important basis for promoting the development of private education and improving the quality of private education.It is of great practical significance and theoretical value to study the professional development of English teachers in private senior schools.This thesis is based on the research on the professional development of senior school English teachers and the related literature research and relationship analysis.Under the guidance of the theory of teachers' professional development,by consulting the relevant literature,sending questionnaires to all English teachers,communicating with some leaders,English teachers,students and the class teachers,I carried out field research and made a comprehensive analysis of the survey results in order to have a preliminary research on how to promote the professional development of English teachers in private senior schools.First of all,I studied the related theories,analyzed the professional development of English teachers in private senior schools,distinguished public senior schools from private senior schools,teacher professional development from teacher professionalization.Meanwhile,I defined the professional development of teachers,the professional development of English teachers and the professional development of senior school English teachers.In addition,the questionnaire was designed by myself according to the relevant contents of four fields which are related to professional development standards for English teachers in primary and secondary schools so that I can make a survey of several private senior schools and do some research.As a result,I find out that the knowledge structure of English teachers in private senior schools is not perfect,the consciousness of writing teaching thesis is weak,the strength of teaching reflection is not enough,the sense of cooperation is lacking,the content of professional growth goal is not comprehensive;Besides,teacher training in schools is not overall.In view of these questions,through practice?research and analysis,from the perspective of teachers,schools and the local education administrative departments,I proposed the reasonable countermeasures and suggestions : The teachers should improve and perfect themselves,these schools ought to completeteacher professional development system and the local education administrative departments had better coordinate and promote the development of private education.
