In recent years,the research on cultural factors has become a hot topic in the area of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in that teaching Chinese as a foreign language belongs to cross-cultural communication,and cultural factors' status and role must not be overlooked in the course of communication.The vocabulary syllabus of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and the grammatical syllabus have been worked out at present.However,the cultural syllabus about teaching Chinese as a foreign language is absent up to now.This is partly because both the connotation and denotation of culture is too broad,and partly because in contrast to language teaching,cultural factors don't get the attention they deserve.The thesis is based on the careful study of the relation between language and culture and that relation in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,and this thesis is at the center of cultural factors in Developing Chinese(2nd Edition)Intermediate Reading Course.The union teaching practice,this thesis examined what students are actually learning in intermediate reading course of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,which is related to cultural factors learning,and based on questionnaire and analysis,the thesis reflects in a particular way on the principle and methodology of cultural factors teaching,and the thesis give some advice about teaching material building and teaching practice in the intermediate reading course of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The thesis aims to study how to better reveal the cultural factors in the intermediate reading course of teaching Chinese as a foreign language via individual case study.From an empirical perspective of cultural factors teaching,it is hoped that this thesis will help students reduce the barrier to entry because of cultural differences.Seen from the theoretical facet,it is hoped that this thesis will be of some help to foster cross-cultural exchange and it will in some way benefit theawareness of cross-cultural exchange establishing.
