Ideological Manipulation Function Of American Genre Films

From the establishment of slavery to the dominance of capitalism in Europe and America,one part of the human race has never ceased to control another.After entering the capitalist society,this kind of control gradually changed from violent body control to manipulative consciousness control.Mass media is an important tool for this kind of control.As one of the mass media,film has its media characteristics and the ideology derived from it at the very beginning of its formation into the cultural industry.The combination of film technology and thought control technology provides a foundation for the ideological manipulation of American genre films.This paper focuses on the analysis of the mechanism of ideological manipulation of American genre films and the institutional factors forming this mechanism.This paper adopts the methods of literature research and text analysis to analyze the ideological manipulation function of genre films.In the study,the author thinks that most of the contents of American consciousness manipulation come from the old world and puritanism,and in the process of immigration,these contents have undergone alienation and produced a unique American ideology.The dissemination of traditional ideas with new technology is the most distinctive feature of American genre films.
