Study On The Double Big Ear Pot Pedigree Of The Late Neolithic To Early Bronze Age In Northwest China

This article focuses on the two large ear cans distributed in northwestern China from about 2800 to 1300 BC.Its time spans the late neolithic to early bronze age.The study area covers the eastern part of the Hexi Corridor in Gansu,eastern Qinghai,southern Ningxia,western Guanzhong,northern Shaanxi,central and southern Inner Mongolia,Shanxi,and southwestern Sichuan.Based on inspections of sooner or later relations of the units where the double ear cans are located in the Ganqing region(further divided into four small areas: the upper Weihe River,the Hexi Corridor,the Hehuang area,and the Taohe River basin),the middle and lower reaches of the Jing and Wei River,and the northern region(further divided into northern Shaanxi,Shanxi,and central and southern Inner Mongolia),respectively.Based on the typical pottery such as pottery li,turtleneck pots,double big ear pots,archeological cultural sequences,and absolute age data,the sooner or later of units in different regions are coordinated,based on which the types and types of double big ear pots are divided.Formula to further derive the stage and age,distribution and source of the double-ear cans.This article divides the double big ear cans into ten types,and their evolution is divided into four periods.The lower-layer of Changshan culture was the source of the double ear cans,and then gradually spread to the entire Weihe River Basin,central Gansu,Hehuang area,Hexi Corridor,Hetao area,and Shanxi area.During the process of diffusion,the unique double-ear cans shape and its own development sequence were formed in various places.At the same time,there was no shortage of direct cultural exchanges between regions during the development process.
