Research On The Stone Knives From The Late Neolithic Age To The Early Bronze Age In Gansu And Qinghai

The stone knife is an important tool in the prehistoric period.To some extent,it reflects the ancient human social production activities and the social economic form,and plays an important role in the development of the prehistoric society.Gansu and Qinghai region is an important region of prehistoric human activities.The abundant prehistoric remains unearthed are widely distributed,and last for a long time span,and is widely distributed.This paper is based on the stone knife unearthed from the late Neolithic age to the Early Bronze Age in Gansu and Qinghai.Compared with other regional culture,Gansu and Qinghai region not only has the same type of stone knife but also contain its own regional cultural characteristics.This paper is divided into six parts.Part one,Introduction,mainly discusses the reasons and significance of the topic selection,including a literature review on the past researches on this topic,the research object,the descriptions of time and space scope,the research purposes and methods,etc.Chapter one retrieves a large number of relevant dates and analyzes the basic status of the unearthed stone knife in Gansu and Qinghai region.The chronology of stone knife unearthed in the sites of Gansu and Qinghai regions are studied.The region is divided into four sub-regions: east Gansu,central Gansu,east Qinghai,and Hexi Corridor.Chapter two is on the typology of stone knife unearthed in Gansu and Qinghai regions.According to the morphological characteristics of the stone knife and the detailed changes,the collected stone knives are classified.Chapter three: the chronological study on the stone knife unearthed in Gansu and Qinghai regions.Based on the changes of the type of stone knife,considering the archaeological cultures,the knives are sorted into different stages.Then the characteristics and development of stone knife are discussed in each stage.Chapter four: the regional distribution of stone knife unearthed in Gansu and Qinghai regions.Based on the types and the changes of stone knife,thearchaeological cultures and their distribution,the regional distribution of stone knife unearthed in Gansu and Qinghai regions is discussed.Then the characteristics of the regional stone knife are discussed in each sub-region.Chapter five: discussions.According to existing researches,some types of stone knife in terms of function and usage are discussed in this chapter.Typical sites are selected to analyze the percentage of the stone tools and stone knives unearthed,based on which the economic formation of society of different archaeological culture in the specific area is further discussed.The final part is conclusion,which summarizes the main contents and results.The main innovation of this paper lies in: Firstly,in order to collect,collate and study the stone knife unearthed in Gansu and Qinghai region,the excavation reports and objects in the museum are thoroughly searched through,which is also one of the missing aspects of the previous studies.Secondly,in order to reflect the development and changes of different stages and the distribution characteristics in different sub-regions,the types,the stages and the regional distribution of stone knife are studied.Thirdly,in order to analyze the economic formation of different archaeological cultures and the changes on the economic formation of different areas and the reasons,etc,typical archaeological sites are selected to study the stone knife unearthed in them.
