As one of the oldest ornaments in the world, swastika patterns are also found in ancient western Asia,Europe,Greece and Egypt.Swastika has a long history in China,it is a special symbolic symbol of the original witchcraft, with rich symbolic significance and cultural connotation, and later evolved into the auspicious meaning of Buddhist characters and folk decorative ornaments. Many scholars at home and abroad believe that the Chinese swastika should be attributed to the descendants of Buddhism. In today’s Chinese literature, all the Buddhist scriptures are directly interpreted as swastika, and some dictionaries in China often use Buddhist terms to explain swastika. However, according to the available archaeological excavations, the earliest swastika patterns found in China now appear in the cultural layer of Pengtou Mountain more than 9000 years ago,so it is wrong to think that "swastika patterns spread to China with the spread of Buddhism." In the four thousand years before Buddhism was introduced into China, the swastika pattern had been produced and developed to a certain extent, and it was a real native culture.By comparing the unearthed or discovered swastika patterns and their regions, this paper analyzes the regional characteristics of the swastika patterns, and analyzes the origin, symbolic significance and the relationship between the swastika patterns and the cross patterns. The full text is divided into four chapters: chapter one, introduction.Explain the reason and significance of the selected topic, and discuss the significance of the swastika. The present situation of the research and the research methods are stated.Chapter II,comprehensive, systematic retrieval of relevant excavation reports and research works, collection and collation of all the unearthed or discovered swastika patterns, and on this basis the collected data for comparative analysis,The regional characteristics and laws of the distribution of swastika patterns from the Neolithic Age to the Bronze Age were discussed. The third chapter, the origin and spread of swastika. On the basis of the second chapter, the characteristics of swastika unearthed are analyzed, and the origin and spread of swastika are inferred. Most of the swastika patterns from the new era to the bronze age have been found in the valley area, and the swastika patterns from the new era to the bronze age, which have been discovered in China, have continuity in time and space, and the evolution process can also be found. Therefore, the author points out that China may be one of the birthplaces of swastika patterns.Later,it was spread to other regions with the migration of human beings, and merged with the swastika patterns of other places of origin, and was further developed. The fourth chapter, the symbolic meaning of swastika.Although the swastika patterns in different regions have different symbolic meanings,in the prehistoric period, they were all associated with nature. They were the products of early human worship and exploration of nature.Through the analysis, the swastika patterns symbolized the lightning and the sun. With the development of human social civilization and the enrichment of spiritual civilization, the connotation of swastika patterns is constantly being enriched and renewed, from the initial nature worship to acertain spiritual symbol.Swastika patterns appear in the witchcraft and tombs of the primitive period, which means the reincarnation of life and the immortality of soul.In chapter 5,the relationship between chevron pattern and cross grain is discussed in this paper. The main innovation point: 1,for the newly unearthed or discovered materials from the New Age to the Bronze Age swastika pattern, the materials were collected and sorted out in a comprehensive and systematic manner. This is a lack of work by predecessors and points out that China may be one of the birthplaces of swastika, and swastika is the deformation of cross, which evolved from cross.
