An Innovative Study On The Freehand Bird Of Lin Liang

Since the Tang Dynasty became an independent family,there have been many flower and bird painters;to the Song Dynasty,meticulous flower and bird painting reached its peak;in the song and Yuan Dynasties,ink painting "four gentlemen" began to be popular,and to the Ming Dynasty,freehand flower and bird painting made great achievements.Lin Liang,as the creator and pioneer of freehand flower and bird painting in Ming Dynasty,has made great contribution to freehand flower and bird painting,especially freehand bird painting.There is a relative lack of records about Lin Liang's life in history.According to the existing data,we can probably draw a conclusion: Lin Liang,who was born in Nanhai County,Guangzhou.He was born between 1418 and 1438.When he was young,he served as a vassal official,and followed Yan Zong and he Yinxue in painting.After becoming famous as a young man,he was recommended to be a palace painter in 1455.He was successively appointed as the Prime Minister of the camp repair office,the governor of the royal guards,and the commander of the royal guards.Finally,he died in the middle and later period of Hongzhi(about 1495-1505).Lin Liang devoted his whole life to the creation of freehand birds and flowers,especially freehand birds.His main contributions and innovations include: the inheritance of painting in the Southern Song Dynasty;the innovation of freehand bird painting;the innovation of painting language;the innovation of panoramic composition;the expansion of freehand bird theme and so on.These contributions and innovations laid the foundation for him as the creator and pioneer of freehand flower and bird painting in Ming Dynasty.Lin Liang's freehand brushwork of flowers and birds,especially birds,has a profound influence on later painters.It not only influenced the court painters Lu Ji and Lin Jiao,but also deeply influenced numerous literati painters,such as Shen Zhou,Xu Wei,Badashan,Tang Yin,Wang Qian,Li Peng,Qi Baishi,Pan Tianshou,Li kuchan,etc.The analysis of the reasons lies in the early time,the large quantity and the high level of Lin Liang's freehand bird painting,which has become a model for many painters to learn.
