Pipa,as one of the traditional ethnic plucked instruments,has a long history and a wide spread area.In the process of its development and evolution,pipa has gradually formed to have the different regional characteristics due to the influence of geographical environment,folk culture and local language.Most of them reflect the regional characteristics,folk festivals,people's life scene and other themes.The pipa composition was produced through the adaption of Shanxi local opera,local folk artsand local music material,especially the regional spoke rhyme was expressed via pipa'svariety of techniques,which greatly enriched the diversity of the pipa art and techniques,and gradually formed the pipa art form with the extreme Shanxiregional style characteristicBased on the practice of learning pipa for many years and through the review and analysis of relevant literature,the author tries to start with some components of Shanxi style pipa and discuss it.The research perspective is mainly based on the existing representative pipa compositions and performance techniques of the "Shanxi art characteristics" to do a case study,in order to obtain a further understanding of shanxi style pipa art.The specific content are as follows:The introduction focus on the some objective and subjective factors in the selection of the title of this paper,and summarizes the domestic research status of the papers related to this work,and finally classifies and summarizes the research methods of this paper.The first part is the composition of Shanxi style pipa art.It is mainly divided into two elements: external geography and Shanxi local music elements.Among that,the local music elements include Shanxi opera music elements(Qin Opera,Wan Wan Opera),Shanxi folk song elements(local dialect,Xintianyou),Xi 'an drum music and Guchui music.The second part deals with the performance technique of Shanxi style pipa.This paper mainly analyzes several playing techniques that commonly used in Shanxi style pipa music,and tries to explore some details about the treatment of playing techniques in Shanxi style pipa music.The performance skills derived from the phonology of Shanxi opera are presented by the rich playing techniques of pipa,and the sound effects are produced by special treatment on the playing techniques.These playing techniques include slide,swing,pressure,push,pull,yin,knead,percussion and other techniques created by Shanxi pipa players.The third part is the comparison of different pipa masters' playing techniques.This paper mainly discusses the differences in style and mood of different pipa players when they play the same music,with the comparison of the two pipa songs "Liu Si" and "Wei Shui" respectively.In addition,based on the pipa player's playing techniques and playing style,the author further elaborated some of own views and thinking.The fourth part,Modern Representative Composers and Case study of Shanxi Style Pipa Works,is the core part of this paper.It mainly includes the relevant experiences of the composer Renhongxiang and the interpretation of his solo works "Weishuiqing"and "Liusi";the experience of composer "Quwenjun" and theinterpretation of his pipa solo-Expressing the love in Qinchuan;the experience of composer Zhaojiping and his interpretation of the pipa concerto "Blessing".
