Explor Instrument Options For Multiple Percussion Master Thesis Master Thesis

This thesis mainly studies the choice of multiple percussion instruments.In this paper,four representative tracks are selected for analysis,all of which are multiple percussion solo.This paper analyzes the composing characteristics and the instrument selection of the four multiple percussion repertoire,designed to provide a way of thinking on the choice of instruments when facing different pieces of music.This paper consists of five chapters.The first chapter explains the definition and origin of multiple percussion,The second chapter briefly introduces some instruments commonly used in multiple percussion performance.Musical Instruments can be divided into five categories: keyboard,metal,leather,wood and Miscellaneous Instruments.The third chapter analyzes some commonly used multiple percussion notation and music surface analysis.Notation reflects the thinking and intention of the composer to a large extent,and the players should also analyze and understand it,and timely feedback to their own performance,which is also one of the important points for the players to choose instruments.In the fourth chapter,four popular and representative multiple percussion repertoire works around the world that cover different countries,different notation methods,different musical instrument requirements,and different styles of different times are selected for analysis,including the introduction of composer's writing background,the analysis of composer's composing intention,the choice of musical instrument,the choice of sticks and so on.The fifth chapter analyzes some common problems when we choose instruments in practice and provides some solutions.As a relatively new form of performance,multiple percussion music has the advantages that traditional percussion music does not have.For example,it broadens the timbre range of percussion music and achieves the performance effect of multiple voice by playing different instruments at the same time.Meanwhile,it also gives percussion a wider range of possibilities in timbre,fully expanding the imagination and skills of composers and players.It is believed that on the future music stage,the multiple percussion music will shine brilliantly.
