Concept is born in society so it can be recorded in such carriers of characters and arts that could judge the human state of mind.Standing at the point of the history to study the concept, the very essential is to identify the relationship between the text records and social changes,as we say,the relationship between how the concept evolves and how the society develops.Generally speaking, the concept occurring when the society entered a transitional age casts light on their links. The words of “Junzi,Xiaoren,Shunv” mentioned in the paper, emerged in the PreQin Dynasty when the ancient China embraced the vase transformation in history. These words all gained their new meanings because of the social evolution.Despite the different reasons for the changes, these words symbolize no more than the limited specific status but a wider range of characteristics not limited by status. This paper will focus on a group of concepts centered the word “Junzi” as they share the common characteristics and similar background, and present the evolution of this group of conceptss in the Pre-Qin Dynasty. This paper is made up of three parts, including the first chapter of introduction, the second to the fifth chapter of concept evolution as well as the last one of the conclusion. The first chapter introduces the writing thought of the paper and the previous academic researches on this topic, the latter of which is divided into two modules, philosophy or intellectual history and the history and linguistics and literature. The second chapter is to analyze the development of the concept “Junzi”.It mainly extends the analyses of the primitive war cultural relics at the start of the emerging concept “Junzi” to the two process of its development.“Junzi” has a primary meaning of inherited-primitive culture. Its later evolution is related to the expansion of the state and the subsequently changing social structure. The third chapter is about the evolution of “Xiaoren”.It is presented the way similar to the second chapter. The main reasons for the changing concept of “Xiaoren” lie on an expanding social scale as well as the impact of the rising groups of “scholars” on public perceptions. The fourth chapter is about the evolution of the concept “Xianren”.After a careful analysis of the word “Xianren”,it is believed that the evolution of the concept of “Xianren” is twisting,it is related to the primitive war culture,to wealth and to excellent quality in succession. All evolutions have something to do with the social changes and influence of the varying structure of “Xianren” as the result of the unification of Qin characters. The fifth chapter is about the evolution of the concept of "Shunv",which is similar to the chapter of “Junzi”.It discusses the transformation of the concept of "Shunv" from its representing status to the symbolizing virtue and goodness. It also thinks that the evolution of "Shunv" is similar to that of "Junzi".It has experienced the path from diffuse role to personal self-reliance,and its evolution connotation is closely related to the evolution of the concept of "Junzi".The conclusion involves a group of concepts and social changing. It mainly reviews the conclusion of the argument so as to find the common characteristics of the research concepts, and explains the relationship between the concepts and social changes, how this relationship unfolds and why to do in the social historical research.
