The troupe of Maoer was an active opera troupes in Shanghai during the late Qing dynasty and the Republic of China,due to its relatively short duration,it has alaways been confused with the Kun troupes in theater research,however,although there are similarities between Maoer troupe and Kun troupes,but there are also differences.The text aims at the investigation and analysis of the composition,organization and management,audience taste,and living status of Maoer troupe,with a view to better understand and grasp the value and significance of Maoer troupe in the history of Chinese opera.The full text consists of four parts:First part:Aesthetic changes in the phenomenon of Maoer troupe.There are three different stages: “rare”,“beauty”and “skill”,the emergence of Maoer troupe originally attracted the audience's attention with “rare”,with the slackening of official bans and the shift of audience aesthetics,more focus turned to the “beauty”,after entering the Republic of China,due to the rise of actresses,the influence of dramatic improvement of movement,and the change in social aesthetics,the shortcomings of “skill”gradually emerged,innovation and transformation are imminent.The second part:The internal structure and organization and management aspects of the Maoer troupe.There are mainly three kinds of troupe types,which are “family troupe”type troupe with family relationship as the link,as a Prostitutes and actress“brothel”type troupe,and “theater”type troupe based on the performance place,mainly opera and playground.In the development process of the Maoer troupe,performance management and teaching training,presents the characteristics of the transition from“family troupe”to “technical troupe”,and gradually formed a formal organization management system.The third part:The living condition behind the stage of the Maoer troupe actress.Maoer troupe have grown from prosperous to prosperous,and then to ceasing,the form and content of the performance are constantly changing,the overall performance is a transition from a private performance to a public performance,performance itself has also changed from a feast to a professional drama,This islargely appropriate for the choice of performance content,The content of the early performance of the Maoer troupe,not only did it not improve its competitiveness in the opera market,and let the Maoer troupe get lost for a time,the most popular Peking opera nowadays has given a more clear direction of development for the Maoer troupe that entered the stage of “performers”.However,compared to the beautiful scenery on the stage,the under stage performers are so dismal,struggling in official power discourse and civil public opinion,like rootless duckweed went on to a long-destined fate.The fourth part:The position of the Maoer troupe in the history of opera development and its value and significance.The emergence of the Maoer troupe has undoubtedly had a significant impact on the professional development of actress drama and the improvement of gender dislocation performance.From Maoerxiaogeban to Shanghai Women Yue opera,in the analysis of this case,we can see that Maoer troupe has completed its staged mission of existence,and has presented a different attitude on the stage of Chinese opera.
