Snoopy,as a classic cartoon image,has shown great vitality in the process of communica tion(1950-2018).The success of its image is closely related to the form of cross-media comm unication,which will spread its role more widely through the span of media.Snoopy has a hu ge system of works.Snoopy comic strips,Snoopy animation short series,animation series,an imation movies,Snoopy series games,Snoopy in the network platform and Snoopy series pro ducts under authorized brands.The success of Snoopy’s character image is the embodiment o f animation image’s cross-media communication.This paper takes cross-media as the leading factor and classifies the "Snoopy" character i mages in traditional media and modern media respectively to study the historical background of the birth of "Snoopy" image,the evolution of "Snoopy" image,black and white four-frame cartoon,color festival special cartoon series image,and the "Snoopy" image in cartoon short s eries,cartoon series and cartoon movies in audio-visual media.In the traditional media,"Sno opy" gradually evolved from a simple cartoon style to a colorful and animated image.In mod ern media,study the role image in the "Snoopy" series of games,analyze the changes of the ro le’s environment,the analysis of the role’s movement rule under the man-machine dialogue,th e "Snoopy" expression package in the network platform,and the image in the mobile phone A PP.Studying the market expansion of series of products under its authorized brand,including mascot,toy series and theme sculpture building series.On the basis of classification research,the analysis of Snoopy series works is carried out with time as the axis,and its role modeling design and presentation mode are studied,and the conclusion is drawn.To provide a perspect ive for the development of China’s animation industry,and to inspire our relevant creations wi th the successful experience of Snoopy.
