Japanese light novels as a part of the Japanese ACGN industry,can be adapted for animation,comics,games and other type of media.The spread of different media will lead to the growth of other publications.After 2000,Japanese light novels and cross-media works began to be introduced to China.In 2010,Japanese light novels began to be published and distributed in large quantities in China,forming a sound market and cultivating audiences.At present,there is no research on the cross-media communication of Japanese light novels yet.Therefore,this paper studies the reasons of success for the cross-media communication of Japanese light novels,excavates the successful experience,and hopes to provide references for the cross-media communication of Chinese ACGN.In this study,case study,content analysis,text analysis and other research methods are adopted.The research object is Japanese light novels and their cross-media works spread in China’s mainland,as well as the subject,channel,content,media and audiences of Japanese light novels’ cross-media communication in China.The thesis is divided into a total of six parts: an introduction,four chapters of main contents and a conclusion.The introduction expounds the research significance of the cross-media communication of Japanese light novels,reviews domestic and foreign literature of Japanese light novels and cross-media communication,and clarifies the research object,research methods and innovation.The first chapter expounds the manifestations of Japanese light novels and the history of changing in the cross-media form of Japanese light novels.The manifestations of Japanese light novels: the advantages of text + illustration,the self-discipline of the role of the elements and the Fragmentation of postmodernism.The second chapter analyzes the domestic introduction and dissemination of Japanese light novels.This chapter analyzes the reasons and processes for the introduction of Japanese light novels in China.And this chapter analyzes the cross-media communication subjects of Japanese light novels in China,the cross-media communication channels of Japanese light novels in China,the communication content of Japanese light novels in China,the media of Japanese light novels in China,and the audiences of the cross-media communication of Japanese light novels.Chapter three discusses the transformation and integration of Japanese light novels cross-media adaptation.It is found that Japanese light novels are adapted for different type of media,generally following the original works,but adapted according to the characteristics of different media.Novels are written language,and comics use lens language + words to tell stories.In addition,comics have the characteristics of perceptual closure.The differences between novels and animations in character and scene shaping,plot designing and keynote rendering in text language and audio-visual language are also analyzed.The game changes from the story to the main tasks:;the fragmentation of the game’s narrative;the change of narrative mode from linear narrative to dialogue;the change of narrative perspective from the protagonist to the player;the superposition of sensory narrative experience,namely the diversified integration of hearing,vision and touch.The fourth chapter discusses the enlightenment of Japanese light novels cross-media communication.The original content should be respected,and the quality of the content should be prioritized;attentions should be paid to realize cross-media conversion according to media type;importance should be attached to the audience’s cross-media participation thus expand the influence of communication.The conclusion summarizes the form of cross-media communication of Japanese light novels,states the importance of audience participation,analyzes the shortcomings of this paper and puts forward the prospect. |
