| This thesis is an English-Chinese translation project report.The original text of this translation is selected from How to Disappear: Notes on Invisibility in a Time of Transparency written by Akiko Busch.The translator chooses Chapter One and Chapter Two as translation text,which mainly tell us that the author uses her own real experience as an example to illustrate the ubiquitous "exposure" of this era and discusses how to have a way of life and enjoyment that is no longer viewed and judged by others in today’s hustle and bustle and enjoys the pleasure of "privacy".From the perspective of cognition,there are many metaphors in Chapter One and Chapter Two,so the translator decides to take the theory of cognitive metaphor as the guiding principle and tries to explore some practical translation methods from the perspective of cognitive metaphor.In the process of this translation,the translator realizes that there is no single translation strategy or method to deal with the metaphors appearing in the text,and specific problems can be analyzed by literal translation,free translation and conversion.Through the flexible use of these strategies and methods,the translator strive to make the sentences smooth and the translation close to the original style to the greatest extent.Through this translation practice,the translator has a clearer and deeper understanding of cognitive metaphors.From the perspective of cognitive metaphor,some translation problems that are difficult to understand can sometimes be easily solved.The theory of cognitive metaphor expands our understanding of metaphor from a rhetorical mode to a cognitive mode.Under the guidance of cognitive mode,the translation of metaphor will be more accurate and the translation will be closer to the public.The cognitive metaphor can also provides a new perspective for future translation practice and a highly readable translation for target readers. |
