As a kind of parents parenting style, overparenting refers to a rearing pattern that parents expect their children to meet their requirements and pay too much attention to interfere with their children's life.According to many researches at home and abroad, parents parenting style will affect the perfectionism of junior high school students in a direct or indirect manner. Thus, both study on the influence of mothers' overparenting on perfectionism of junior high school students and exploration of diverse dimensions of mothers' overparenting are of great significance to the mental health development of junior high school students. On this basis, this paper carries out empirical research by reference to and based on previous theories and researches. It first revises the over-parenting scale compiled by Hong Kong scholar Leung,et al.,adopts the psychological control scale, perfectionism scale and revised mothers' over-parenting scale of junior high school students to test 565 junior high school students and then uses SPSS24.0 and AMOS23.0 to analyze the data to clarify the relationship between mothers' over-parenting,mental control and perfectionism.Research 1: The revised Mothers Over-Parenting Scale of Junior High School Students totally includes 31 questions with 7 dimensions such as excessive emotional participation, expected problem-solving,strict monitoring,over-concern,frequent comparison of academic performance with peers, emphasis on academic performance and too much activity arrangement.Overall, the coefficient of internal consistency of the scale is 0.89 and that of each dimension is between 0.73 and 0.81,with good fit indices of construct validity. The scale is also consistent with the theoretical model of seven factors, which is of great reliability and validity.Research 2: the score of mothers over-parenting of junior high school is significantly higher than the theoretical average. In terms of gender variables, overparenting sees evident difference in the dimension of frequent comparison of academic performance with peers and that of emphasis on academic performance. With regard to grade variables, great variance can be seen in the total score of over-parenting,and in dimensions including expected problemsolving, strict monitoring,over-concern,emphasis on academic performance and too much activity arrangement. In regard of birth variables, significant difference can be spotted only in dimensions like over-concern and too much activity arrangement. In further analysis, psychological control plays the role in partly mediating mothers overparenting and perfectionism of junior high school students, with the contribution rate of mediating effect to total effect registering 26.14%.The results of this paper including:(1)The revised " maternal overparenting scale in junior high school students " were assessed with a 31-item scale. The revise of the scale is suitable to junior high school students.(2)Maternal overparenting is positively correlated with perfectionism and psychological control.Perfectionism was positively correlated with psychological control.Psychological control plays a part of mediating role between maternal overparenting and perfectionism.
