This research use the psychological control source questionnaire,parents upbringing questionnaire and self hinder questionnaire to investigate656rural junior high school students of Shangqiu city.lt aims to know the parents teaching of rural junior high school students and the present situation of academic self-handicapping.From the self value theory,use the parents teaching and psychological control source to reveal the characteristics of rural junior high school students self-block,to build3theoretical model of parents teaching structure;the psychological control source and self-handicapping;to help rural parents and education workers take effective intervention strategies to different types of students specially,in order to control the self-handicapping promptly and effectively and improve their learning quality.The conclusion of this research are as follows:1. Academic self-handicapping trend of rural junior high students exists the difference based on the sex and grade.Based on the grade difference is more significant,the senior students are higher than the junior student in the trend of academic self-handicapping.However,based on the non significant sex difference,boys are little higher than girls in academic self-handicapping.2. The rural junior high school boy students’parents teaching is different from the girls.Moreover,there are difference between fathering and mother teachering3. External controlers are higher than interal controlers on academic self-handicapping trend4. Rural junior high school students’parents upbringing is related to mental control source.5. Rural junior high school students’parents teaching, psychological control source and academic self-handicapping are related.The predictive power of internal control from father’s trust is1%;if parents autocraticor ignored children the result is to make chidren become’the people depend on others’,this forecast probability is9%;the predictive power of mother spoil for unknow party is6%.Parents despotism to rural junior high school student academic self-handicapping’s predictive power is8%;the parents’trust and encouragement is9%;and the mother spoil is2%.This study also puts forward corresponding education intervention strategies,that is:rural junior high school students’ parents should improve their quality and family education art, promote the students form the correct attribution, update the education concept, completes the parent-child communication, care and moderate properly measures to control the students’ academic self-handicapping.
