Disfluency is a common phenomenon in interpretation and is one of the most important criterion for assessing the quality of interpretation. This thesis is a case study based on the mock conference of President Fernandez about the coronavirus epidemic situation in Argentina. In this study, the author will analyze the disfluencies in SpanishChinese consecutive interpretation.First of all, based on the previous studies and the author's practical experience, the author proposed the definition of disfluency and classifies the examples of disfluency in this case into 2 main types: pauses and repairs.Secondly, with specific examples, the author summarizes and analyzes the causes of disfluencies: listening and comprehension difficulty of long sentences and numbers, insufficient background knowledge, tardiness of expressing in target language and bad habits of expression. Finally, this thesis lists possible solutions to disfluencies in interpreting: train listening and comprehension ability, accumulate background knowledge, improve expression ability and strengthen the monitoring. The author hopes that this study will provide a reference for the practice of Spanish interpreting training of student interpreters.
