Reasons And Solutions Of Using Too Much Time During Chinese-Spanish Consecutive Interpreting

As a student learning consecutive interpretation,the author finds that it takes her too much time to interpret from Chinese to Spanish,and that the time control should be taken seriously.Therefore,the author tries to analyse the cause of the problem on the basis of a case study upon the consecutive interpreting of the speech by Jack Ma in the 4th World Internet Conference.Apart from the objective reason of language differences,the subjective reasons can be concluded as follows: pause,self-correction and the redundant and complex target language.And several solutions are proposed to control the interpretation time: deverbalization and simplification of the target language,improvement of expression flexibility,better note taking strategies and good preparation before interpreting.
