Research On The "Place Spirit" Of Contemporary Urban Sculpture

As an important part of urban public space,urban sculpture represents the unique image positioning and cultural temperament of each city.The shaping of urban sculpture space not only beautifies the urban environment and enriches people's spiritual life,but also subtly influences aesthetic education on people.In recent years,many large and medium-sized cities have created a large number of urban sculptures,and some cities only use it as a symbol of political achievements and a landmark of the city,simply pursuing short,straight and fast.However,the spiritual attributes of its public space design are neglected,and the unique place spirits in various places are lacking,thus destroying the public's emotional attachment to the place space,making it difficult for aesthetic subjects to have psychological identification with such sculptures.The spirit of place represents the cultural spirit of a region.As one of the important carriers of urban spirit and cultural construction,urban sculpture needs the ability to construct the spirit of place.This article starts from the following sections:First of all,in the introduction part,we made a more comprehensive discussion and list the framework of full text research for the subject research background,research purpose and significance,domestic and international research status,research methods and innovation points.The first chapter that mainly discusses the concept,connotation,characteristics and development background of place spirit and urban sculpture.It is clear that the relationship between the two influences each other and complements each other,and the necessity ofcontemporary urban sculpture to participate in the spiritual construction of the place is proposed.Which established a theoretical foundation for the research of the thesis.The second chapter,it focuses on investigating the repercussions of contemporary urban sculptures through field surveys and questionnaire surveys.Four excellent urban sculpture works with different functional properties are selected as typical cases for analysis.Taking the research on their expression methods and humanistic connotation as the entry point,they try to explore the expression of the spirit of the place by different types of urban sculpture works.The content of the third chapter is mainly based on the success of excellent work cases,and deduces how contemporary urban sculpture should participate in the construction of place spirit under the inspiration of excellent work cases.Keeping close to the characteristics of the place spirit and the various dimensions in the process of urban sculpture creation(creative concept,expression techniques,sculpture language,material selection,etc.),as far as possible,systematically and holistically draw the methodology of contemporary urban sculpture participation in the construction of place spirit.At chapter four,a deeper reflection and summary of the significance of the fusion of urban sculpture and place spirit was made.Through the research of this topic,we can put forward constructive opinions on the creation of urban sculptures,with the hope that the creation of urban sculptures in China can develop in a better and reasonable direction.
