Sculpture Field--Research On The Construction Of Sculpture Place

Rapid development of society brings the deterioration of living environment and mutual imitation and over the course of the pursuit of speed in urban construction causes the people's lost and alienation to the living environment. In China, sculpture and environmental art design belong to different disciplines. When the designers make the environment design, they are lack of professional knowledge of characteristics of the sculpture, which makes it too difficult to choose and use the right sculpture and also results in lack of the overall sense and integrity during the construction. This leads to neglect of the spirit of place and disappearance of historical inheritance.This article puts forward the concerns to location and its spirit, and proposes the concept of "sculpture field". Taking the sculpture as the starting point, the author introduces system of field building and places the sculpture in a specific environment to analyze. The characteristic of "field" from sculpture unites the invisible power in the space, gathers together with the involvement of people's spirit and the experience of visual perception. As a new medium, "sculpture field" expresses the psychological perception and objective aspiration.This article analyzes the concept of "sculpture field" and location building through form construction, functional requirements and the ethos, summaries the principles of location building, explains the characteristics of "field force effect", validates this theory by the engineering practice, and gives a new perspective and understanding of "sculpture". It expresses ethos from the location by more factors, awaken people to rethink about the identification of location through sculpture, provides multi-angle mode of thinking about the environmental design and enriches the design ways, in order to meet the requirements of the city development both physically and spiritually...
