With the continuous improvement of China's comprehensive national strength,China's economy has maintained steady and rapid growth.The "Chinese Dream" and the "One Belt,One Road" initiative have had a huge impact on Central Asian countries.Since Kyrgyzstan and China formally established diplomatic relations,the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries have been in a good state of development.The exchanges between the two countries have been further strengthened in the economic,cultural,and political fields,which has promoted the continuous improvement of the role of Chinese language teaching.Before Kyrgyzstan became independent,there is hardly any formal Chinese teaching in the country.From its independence,Kyrgyzstan has opened professional Chinese courses and a large number of Chinese-related training activities in educational institutions at different levels,and so in-depth research on the current development of Chinese teaching in Kyrgyzstan is of great research significance.This research focuses on the Chinese teaching in Kyrgyzstan universities.Among them,three representative universities in Kyrgyzstan are selected to conduct related investigations.The thesis mainly includes the following parts: First,it provides an overview of Chinese teaching in Kyrgyzstan,starting from Kyrgyzstan's language policies,and expounds the history and current situation of Chinese teaching in Kyrgyzstan,including Chinese teaching in Kyrgyzstan's domestic education system,the status of the Confucius Institute and the development of the Confucius Institute in Kyrgyzstan.Second,it conducts related surveys and interviews with Bishkek University of Humanities,KyrgyzstanNational University,and Osh State University in order to understand the actual situation of Chinese teaching in the three universities through multi-dimensional surveys of learners and teachers.From the feedback we finally not only understand the similarities and differences of the three universities in Chinese teaching,but also clarify the current deficiencies and challenges in Chinese teaching.It is found that Chinese language teaching in Kyrgyzstan has made some achievements,but there are still many problems in Chinese language education in Kyrgyzstan,such as weak teaching staff,insufficient teaching materials,monotonous teaching concepts,and simple teaching methods.This thesis analyzes the reasons for these problems,and based on the teaching status of the three universities,as well as the author's own experiences in Chinese language learning and studying in China,and provides some constructive suggestions to improve the Chinese teaching in Kyrgyzstan's universities from the three aspects of teaching materials,teaching methodology,and teachers of Chinese.
