Chinese Image Writing In Han Suyin's Autobiography(1938-1948)

Han Suyin,as an envoy of east and west cultures,built a bridge of communication between China and the west with her works and speeches.The “China:Autobiography,History” series recorded the rise and fall of China over the past hundred years,from1885.At the same time,she wrote the experiences of herself and narrated the fortunes of her father's family.This is an indispensable and important series in the cultural exchanges between China and the west.Han Suyin's narrations of China have specific characters which due to her non-duplicated personal experience.Therefore,the first chapter clarify the connection of her personal experience and works.Through close reading and text analysis,this article try to carry the narrative strategies of the autobiography series respectively,from the the image of Chinese people,cities,and traditional cultures.Meanwhile,by discussing "Chinese image" from 1938 to 1948,this paper intends to construct an analysis framework of “Chinese image” and provide research train for works of overseas Chinese authors...
