Summary And Reflection On The Director Experience Of Children's Drama "Little Parents"

In recent years,a lot of people raised their concern on the education of drama in China.Since2013,She Shan Xing Cheng Primary school?She Xiao?in Nanjing insist on presenting a homemade children's drama before the Children's Day in every year.It is a great honor that I have the chance to cooperate with She Xiao as a drama director,which I directed the 8^th annual children's drama,“Little Parents”.This drama is also a piece of artwork for my graduation of The Master of Drama Art degree.Miss Zhao Bing Rou,a Master of Drama Art student of the Nanjing University,is the playwright of the children's drama,“Little Parents”.The 14 actors of the children's drama are chosen from the 3^rd and 4^th grade primary students of She Xiao.The stage setting,sound effects,dance and costumes are all designed by me and are produced in cooperation with the teachers of She Xiao.The plot of the drama is about how Hu Xiaopeng's parents are turned into children magically by the elf's mistake and teamed up to the Kingdom of Music to find the pills to undo elf's magic.In this adventure,Hu and his parents gradually learn the meanings of trust,positive communication,and understanding of each other.Finally,their efforts paid off and Hu's parents turned back into adults.The overall impression of the drama is witty,humorous,joyful,full of singing and dancing.In fact,it borrows the storyline of a fairy tale as the shell and describes the troubles of children's daily life through a vivid and interesting way.Through the production of the“Little Parents”as a drama director,I felt the uniqueness and the charm of children participating in drama creation.The presumptuous vitality and the innocent and rustic temperament of children injected fresh and young energies into the drama.And in the process of creating the drama,we can feel that drama is like the“Pandora Box”,which has a special and mysterious charm,attracting the children to enjoy the process of the drama creation,while allowing children to grow up rapidly and happily through cosplaying different characters.This is exactly like the process of drilling wood for fire,which the drama is the flintstone rich in minerals,and the children are the wood branches with infinite possibilities.And for the first time I directed a children's drama,It feels like I am the ancient people who yearn for the bright but inexperienced,clumsily and constantly groping for ways to produce fire.This article first focuses on the four aspects of the creation of the children's drama“Little Parents”,which are the production of the storyboard,the blueprint of the director's design,the roughness of the rehearsal process,and the defects of the stage.Then,summarizes the gains and growth in this director's experience.And finally discusses about some reveries on the spreading and popularizing of the education of drama in primary schools.
