The Constructing Strategies Of Narrative Authority In Personal Voice In Lin Bai’s Fictions

With the translation,introduction and dissemination of western feminist theories in China,a number of female writers emerged in the 1990 s,which became a beautiful landscape in the 1990 s with their unique individual writing and exquisite female perspective.Lin Bai as one of the representative writer,its creation in the first person "I" narrative,describes the female body,lust and lesbian relationship,shows the woman’s unique spirit and emotional experience,creates a new way in female literature which is always shaded by the male discourse.At present,the researches on Lin Bai’s novels are more based on the study of phenomena,the fictions are analyzed and evaluated as a feminist literary phenomenon,and the writing contents,writing images and writing effects are summarized,in an attempt to analyze the social trend of thought reflected by this phenomenon.While the researches on her literary techniques and narrative techniques are less discussed.This paper will start from feminist narratology,research on narratlogical analysis,explore the establishment of the authority of personal narrative in Lin Bai’s novels,in order to find a new perspective for the study of Lin Bai’s texts.Regardless of the academic controversies,the novels written by Lin Bai in the1980 s and 1990 s have a certain value and significance,participating in the construction of Chinese female literature.In this process,Lin Bai contributed to the establishment of the authority of female narrative.At the story level,she broke through the previous taboo of writing and established the space of female’s residence in the text with mirror image,body and another gender structure.Mirror image is self-cognition,which is the basis of female writing.The body is the way for women to write.Women writers use blood instead of ink to break the shackles.The resetting of gender structure is a revolt,a result of female writing in the text,which subverts gender discourse.After building a mirror house where women can live and speak,Lin Bai has the basis for narrative and can begin to control narrative at the level of discourse.Through the homodiegetic narrative,personal conversion and meta-narration,Lin Bai controls the narrative rhythm and value judgment at the discourse level and establishes the writing style.Homodiegetic narrative cuts and collages the narrative logic,personal transformation deepends the objectivity and the evaluation,and meta-narrative builds narrator behavior of credibility,also deconstructs the sanctity of text production.In these ways,the narrator has led to a narrative,grip in deconstructs the original logic at the same time establish a new writing style.From the perspective of narrative authority construction,Lin Bai’s early works established a personal narrative voice,emphasized female experience and personal consciousness,and had a relatively clear gender stance and pioneering spirit.They provided feasible strategies for constructing narrative authority at the story and discourse levels.Although these strategies became difficult in the subsequent practice and Lin Bai also tried to make a transformation,it is undeniable that this is a successful attempt within the text after all,which provides a reference for Chinese female writing.
