With the Japanese cartoon culture entering China in the 90 s of the last century,the current teenagers are a generation that has grown up with the Internet and game animation.As an important component of visual culture,the role of cartoon images is becoming increasingly apparent.Today's booming Meng culture has been brewing and developing as a companion product of cartoon.The words "kawaii","act cute" and "cute" appear frequently in people's daily lives.The Meng culture began as a branch of the youth subculture,with the development of the zeitgeist,it has grown,breaking down the barriers of multidisciplinary and pluralism with a strong gesture and evolving into a mainstream culture with the characteristics of the times.At present,the study of Meng culture and related content in China's academic circles is still in the development stage,with many perspectives and a wide range of thinking,but most of them are mainly in the field of communication and psychology research with a strong thematic but insufficient interdisciplinary nature.This paper aims to make a panoramic study of the current Meng culture,using representation theory and combining relevant knowledge of artistry to conduct interdisciplinary research.In the article,several questions are mainly resolved: how did the Moe culture come about? What are the forms of representation in contemporary life? Does Moe as a culture have an impact on the creation of artists and how exactly does it behave?Through the study of the representation of daily life and the comprehensive investigation of China,Japan and Europe,this article intends to explore the characteristics of the contemporary Meng culture and the essential reasons for its spread and popularity as a youth culture.Finally,article attempt to alert and critical the potential threats and shortcomings of this subculture.
