Social exclusion is a universal social phenomenon in human life.Empirical studies have shown that social exclusion has a profound impact on individual cognition,emotion and behavior.In view of the universality and negativity of social exclusion,it is worth paying more attention to reduce its impact on social life.This study examine the mediating role of state self-esteem in the influence of social exclusion on risk-taking behavior and the moderates effect of self-affirmation in social exclusion on risk-taking behavior by questionnaires and behavioral experiments.The study consisted of three experiments,including one preliminary experiment and two formal experiments.The preliminary experiment took 111 college students as subjects,manipulates social rejection through the Cyberball paradigm,and measures risk-taking behaviors using balloon analogous risk tasks,it preliminary proves that social exclusion has a positive effect on risk-taking behaviors,that is,social exclusion promotes risk-taking behaviors of individuals.Experiment 1 discusses the influence mechanism of social exclusion on risky behaviors,took 133 college students as subjects measures individuals' state self-esteem by questionnaire,manipulates social exclusion and measures risky behaviors by the same method as preliminary experiment,and investigates the mediating effect of state self-esteem on social exclusion and risky behaviors.Experiment 2 surveys 173 college students,examined the moderating effect of self-affirmation on direct and indirect effects by manipulating the self-affirmation of the subjects.This study explores the influence of social exclusion on risk-taking behavior and its psychological mechanism,which is of enlightening significance for individuals to act rationally in social situations.The main conclusions of the study are as follows:(1)social exclusion significantly affects risk-taking behavior.The level of risk-taking behavior in the social exclusion group is significantly higher than that in the social acceptance group,that is,social exclusion can improve individual risk-taking behavior.(2)state self-esteem plays a partial mediating role between social exclusion and risky behaviors.(3)self-affirmation moderates the mediating effect of state self-esteem and the direct effect of social exclusion on risk-taking behavior.
