Human beings are social animals that must rely on groups or others to meet their physical and mental needs. When the individual is rejected by others,he will perceive the threat, which may affect his risk decision-making.The purpose of this study was to explore the influence of social exclusion on risk decision-making,and to explore the underlying mechanism of the relationship from the perspectives of rejection sensitivity and self-esteem.Study 1 used the single-factor between subject design(social inclusion vs social exclusion)to explore the performance of social exclusion or inclusion condition induced by cyberball paradigm on the Balloon Analogue Risk Task, and to investigate the role of self-esteem and rejection sensitivity on the relationship.Study 2 used the single-factor between subject design(social context:future alone, future inclusion, unfortunate control)to examine the risk decision-making characteristics of adolescents in subsequent BART tasks under the social exclusion and non-exclusion conditions induced by the future-alone paradigm.Since previous studies have found that changes in self-esteem are masked by such factors as self-presentation pressure in the future-alone paradigm. Therefore, study 2 only investigated whether rejection sensitivity played a moderating role in the relationship of social rejection on risk decision-making.The specific results were as follows:Study 1:1.Social exclusion could positively predict risk behaviors, the excluded individuals were more inclined to risk-seeking;2.Self-esteem suppressed the relationship between social exclusion and risk decision-making tendency, the higher the individual's sense of social exclusion, the lower the level of self-esteem,and his decision-making behavior was more prone to risk aversion.3.Rejection sensitivity had no moderating effect on social rejection and risk decision making.Study 2:Social rejection and rejection of anger had significant interaction effects on risk decision-making tendency.Individuals with low rejection anger showed more risk-seeking behavior when they experienced a higher level of rejection. However, individuals with high rejection anger did not experience significant changes in decision-making behavior regardless of how much rejection they experienced.Social exclusion induced by different paradigms has different influences on risk decision-making,and its relationship and internal mechanism are also different.
