There are quite a number of Chinese learners in Japan,and there are a lot of types and quantities of Chinese textbooks prevailing in Japan.However,there is still a lack of research on Chinese textbooks prevailing in Japan,especially the study of their exercises.Therefore,this paper makes statistics and analysis on the exercises of the elementary Chinese textbooks prevailing in Japan,and uses the results of previous studies for reference to makes an investigation from the perspectives of learners,teachers and effectiveness.This paper through comparative analysis summarizes the characteristics of the elementary Chinese textbooks prevailing in Japan.(1)The statistics show the following characteristics:Recognition and reading,Japanese-Chinese translation and vocabulary sort to sentence formation exercises,this three types are the most common exercises in the elementary Chinese textbooks prevailing in Japan;In these three types of exercises,-imitation memory exercises,understanding and applying exercises and communicative exercises-,the first two exercises account for the majority,so that the exercises of the elementary Chinese textbooks prevailing in Japan pay more attention to the front link in the input-output link;The most frequently used skill for exercises is "writing" and learning strategies are cognitive strategies,however,there are different proportions between different textbooks.(2)The exercises of the elementary Chinese textbooks prevailing in Japan conforms to the characteristics of some Japanese learners,that conforms to the characteristics of Japanese learners' cognitive style,but does not conform to the characteristics of Japanese learners' learning strategies and motivation.(3)From the teacher's point of view,the exercises of elementary Chinese textbooks prevailing in Japan provides convenience and help to both non-native language teachers and native language teachers,but it also brings difficulties.(4)From the perspective of content effectiveness,form effectiveness and quantity effectiveness,the exercises of elementary Chinese textbooks prevailing in Japan have some effects in content and form,but their degree is limited and the effectiveness of different textbooks is not same.The effectiveness of quantity in the class of Chinese as a second language in Japanese universities is not very good.Through statistics,analysis and investigation,this paper summarizes the it also enables users to have a better understanding of elementary Chinese textbooks prevailing in Japan and its exercises,thus providing help to Chinese teaching and users in Japan.This paper through the statistics and analysis also puts forward some suggestions.The first point is that in order to better take into account the requirements to localization textbooks and TCFOL textbooks,the author need to pay attention to its development and innovation.;The second point is a more specific proposal,because the intention of the textbook is clearer,users can make better use of it.;The third point is that in order to get the best results,teachers should pay more attention to the purpose of textbook exercises.;The fourth point is that teachers should not only understand the characteristics of Chinese textbooks prevailing in Japan,but also the characteristics of textbooks prevailing in China,and pay attention to the current class students and their use.I hope that these suggestions will promote the improvement of quality of the exercises of elementary Chinese textbooks prevailing in Japan,contribute to the improvement of Chinese teaching in Japan.
