In recent years,China's comprehensive national strength has been continuously enhanced and China has hosted many international events.Interpretation has become an important activity to impart knowledge and culture and enhance mutual trust and understanding.The level of interpretation is directly related to the quality of communication.The 7th World Military Games held in Wuhan in October 2019 was one of the largest events after 2008 Beijing Olympics.Athletes from more than 100 countries participated in 27 major events.The reporter served as an interpreter of the football games of the Military Games,responsible for the liaison interpreting of pre-match reception,pre-match conference and tourism for members of the International Military Sports Council,referees and technical officials and consecutive interpreting of press conference and meetings.The reporter encountered two major problems in the project: The first is the linguistic level: the lack of background knowledge of football matches,the difficulty of overcoming the accent barrier,and the inexplicit expressions;the second is the communicative level:the vagueness of the interpreter's role and the response to emergencies.The interpreter provides some solutions under the guidance of multiple theories: first of all,adequate preparation before interpreting is vital,such as mastering the rules of football games,summarizing the pronunciation features of different accents,and improving the output quality.The second is an analysis of the role of the interpreter: playing the role of cultural mediator and balancing the relationship between subjectivity and passivity.Through the introduction of the interpreting process and the analysis of specific cases,it provides a certain experience for interpreters who need to perform multiple types of interpreting in large sports events.
