Chen Qian,an American Chinese writer, devotes himself to writing the destiny of women and expressing the emotional experience and subject exploration of contemporary overseas Chinese women. The images of runaway women in her novels are particularly prominent. They fled from the native to the exotic and from their families to the society.Although they are similar to the path of Chinese women's liberation since the May 4th movement, the author makes them further reflect on the possibility of women's self-independence and value realization in the contemporary western world with higher freedom.Chen Qian uses intertextuality strategies, compares her work with the related literature classic and rewritten, such as "who is Mei Li" and " Again the palm trees"," South Flying Wild Goose" and “Regrets His Death” and so on.Therefore, the discussion of women's issues in his works has more implications of historical evolution and contemporary evolution,to further highlight the author's view of women. The formation of Chen Qian's view on women is closely related to her own personal life experience and the influence of Chinese and western cultures. In her novels, she is good at psychological depiction, restrained recalling narration and open ending, which help her to shape the image of runaway women and construct the subject consciousness of women. The images of runaway women in Chen Qian's works reveal the struggle and struggle of overseas Chinese women on the road to self-realization.
