The classification management of prisoners is an important subject of prison management,and it is also an important criterion to assess a country’s ability of rectifying policy development and prison management.Under the current situation,with the constant improvement of prison facilities,for one aspect,concept of reforming criminals has stagnated for a long period,for another results of rehabilitation of offenders have not significantly changed as the escaping rate have been falling for years.The current situation of prison work requires us to emancipate our minds and explore a new method of classification management.In China,classified management of criminal has experienced a long-term planning and exploration and has accumulated a wealth of valuable experience,but it lacks depth analysis research and systematic theory.The criminal classification management system have developed rapidly in developed countries.There are a lot of advanced experience worth learning,but because of the different conditions as we can not use directly.so the appropriate management with Chinese characteristics are significantly importantFrom the perspective of public management,the essay takes the S prison in Shandong Province as an example to study the classification management of criminals.By discussing the meaning,background,,standard,method of criminal classification,considering the criminal classification of typical developed countries abroad and drawing on their experience and then find the problems and shortcomings of criminal classification in China,through which we can analysis the current situation of our country and make the corresponding considerations and suggestions.Exploring the appropriate management with Chinese characteristics and promoting our country’s criminal management research to make contribution for our country’s theory and practice of prison management.
