A Study On The Popular Literature As A Carrier Of Ideological And Political Education

People's life has been full of a large amount of information from information explosion with the advent of "internet-plus" era.Meanwhile,phenomena such as fragmented reading,networked languages and globalized ideologies are gradually impacting and changing ways for various carriers of ideological and political education to play their roles.Compared with new carriers of ideological and political education such as dramas,movies and televisions,literature assumes more urgent and arduous tasks as a traditional field and mainstream carrier of ideological and political education.It is undeniable that literature has been commonly studied as a carrier of ideological and political education.However,popular literature,with more distinctive value in the field of literature,has been rarely studied in terms of its functions for ideological and political education.Scholars have been used to focusing on red classics,but neglect popular literary works with more extensive impacts upon people's life.By exploring scientific implications of popular literature as a carrier of ideological and political education,features,strengths and significant value of popular literature as the carrier are investigated.Furthermore,present situation of popular literature as a carrier of ideological and political education is investigated to reflect on problems with its development and corresponding causes,so as to examine standard development of this carrier and ways of its effective application.After research,popular literature is discovered to have some strengths and characteristics different from other carriers of literature that can be integrated into ideological and political education.Nonetheless,there are still some problems with current popular literature,including copying,vulgarization and utilitarianism,which do not only make it more difficult for China to carry out its ideological and political education,but also are unfavorable for developing popular literature as a carrier of such education.After reflecting upon causes of incomplete development of current popular literature as a carrier of ideological and political education,the author considers that this carrier still has great potential for development.More efforts shall be made to enhance standard development of this carrier,fully explore resources of popular literary works for ideological and political education and assist in China's implementation of such education to vigorously and spiritually motivate social production of China,promote socialist cultural construction with Chinese characteristics and strengthen China's soft power in literature for the purpose of contributing to realizing China's great dreams of national prosperity,national rejuvenation and people's happiness.
