An Empirical Analysis On The Influence Factors Of The Subjective Well-being In The Domestic Elderly

The study is based on the following backgrounds:(1)With the prosperity of material wealth and civilization,the meaning of happiness has become richer.Gradually,people put focus from solving the problem of food and clothing to pursuing the spiritual wealth.Happiness is related to the survival and development of every single citizen.Realizing the happy life is not only the ultimate aim of the individual,but also the essential requirement of Chinese Dream.(2)With the acceleration of the global aging process,the aging population has become one of the major social problems in China.The life problem of the elderly whose number is more than ten percent of population in our country should attract great attention.Therefore,it has vital significance to the harmonious development of family and society,that we study the factors affecting the subjective well-being and make policy suggestions for increasing the happiness of the elderly.Using the data from the sixth wave of Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey,we mainly talk about the empirical research through descriptive statistics,factor analysis and binary logistic regression.In addition to the total sample regression,this paper is also based on demographic characteristics,respectively,from the gender and urban and rural areas to compare the differences of happiness among different groups.From the empirical research,we can conclude that:(1)On the individual level,age,health and activity participation have the significant influence on the happiness of the elderly.(2)On the family level,family relation and the economic condition have great effect on happiness.Compared with the absolute income,the relative economic position is more important.(3)On the social level,social security is still the main influence factor,and the effect of community service is not obvious.But we believe that the community service will improve the happiness of the elderly in the near future,because the elderly has gradually realized that the community service could bring much convenience to their daily life,with the popularity of community endowment pattern.Finally,we will give some specific suggestions and operating projects on increasing subjective well-being of the elderly according to the empirical results.
