After the Second World War,Lebanon,as the most important energy channel and military base and trading hub of the United States in the Middle East,has positive significance for the United States to curb Soviet expansion,maintain stability in Western European countries and build a new order in the middle east Therefore,the United States has been trying to prevent the Soviet Union's infiltration of Lebanon,while undermining the influence of French,which had colonized Lebanon for long times.To implement this strategy,the United States on the one hand,through a lot of economic and military aid to realize the purpose of netting Lebanese leaders,strengthen the power of the Lebanese government against communist expansion;The United States united The United Kingdom,on the other hand,has taken the lead in Lebanon's political establishment by crowding out French.Following the Suez channel crisis in 1956,the Pan-Arabism movement flourished,and the popularity of Egyptian leader Gamal A.Nasser in the Arabia world flourished.The Shameng regime was under pressure from the Muslim community and faced the crisis of collapse.In order to maintain stability in Lebanon,the United States policy toward Lebanon has been upgraded from aid to military support.In 1958,a civil war broke out in Lebanon,and the United States intervened in the Lebanese civil war in order to maintain a pro-American regime.After the end of the Lebanese civil war,the newly elected Chehab government began to convert the pro-French policy,and the United States suffered a partial defeat of its policy towards Lebanon.
