The Moni refer to female Suni in the Yi community of Liangshan,and Suni is generally classified as a shaman.In this sense,the article is a study of the “woman shaman” in the Liangshan Yi community.This article makes an in-depth investigation of the beliefs of the moni from the relationship between monk and pymour,the ceremonies of Moni,the professional characteristics of Moni,and the livelihoods and faithfulness of Moni.People's belief in the self-protection of God “Asa”,when Moni and people who believe in monks and nuns interacts,constitutes the mechanism of the faith of the monks and nuns,and the social power of “Asa” gods can be understood.The legitimacy comes mainly from two aspects: First,it is derived from the recognition of the original religion of the Yi nationality.A Yi woman who has received “God's call” or is “in sick” wants to become a monk and needs Bimo to hold “A sa Luo” to confirm the ceremony.The second is from the interpretation needs of people's real life.In life,the Buddhist Moni answer the questions for people,that is,"treatment." This article is divided into six parts.The first part mainly introduces the geographical location,natural environment,livelihoods,festivals and religious beliefs of Xiaoliangshan.The second part explains the acquisition of monks and nuns and their identities,and describes the relationship of the clergy,the differences in professions,and the confirmation ceremony for the "God's Call" and "Nizhe" of the Moni in the Xiaoliangshan Yi community.The third part discusses the “A sa Luo” ceremony.The ritual process can be summarized into three stages: separation stage,marginal stage and aggregating stage.After the ceremony,Moni has obtained a clear identity,rights and obligations.The fourth part focuses on Moni's professional activities: divination,fortune-telling,exorcism,and spiritualism.The fifth section clarifies the Moni' s beliefs and their lives,and the Moni's beliefs possess obviously "operable".Finally,by interpreting the beliefs of the Moni,the legal validity of Moni in the Yi society is demonstrated.
