Since the rise of the we-media,everyone has become the source of information. The public have shifted from the bystanders to the makers of information. With the support from we-media platforms, they have expressed their willingness and opinions and deeply engaged in the dissemination and review of information, which tend to have a major impact on the development of the situation. The speed that we-media disseminates information and its broad audience are unparalleled. The rapid development of we-media has not only promoted the progress of Internet and information technology in China, but also brought unprecedented challenges to the protection of privacy rights. The excessive liberalization of its own operating mechanism and the deficiency of related laws and regulations have led to a large number of infringement cases on citizens' privacy, which have caused a significant impact on citizens' privacy protection. Therefore, how to protect the privacy of citizens has become a social issue, which is also concerned by the academic world. This thesis is based on the privacy protection in the context of we-media.Despite the introduction and conclusion,it is divided into five chapters. The first chapter defines the concept of we-media,analyzes the characteristics, and then compares the conventional right of privacy with that in the context of we-media,thus clarifies the new features of privacy. The second chapter interprets the subject of infringement of privacy right, the characteristics of infringement, and the way of expression in the context of self-media.Combined with several typical cases of privacy infringement,it analyzes the infringements on public privacy and other potential risks. The third chapter starts from the privacy protection of we-media in China, analyzes the privacy protection of the we-media in China from the aspects of status, existing problems and self-regulation of this industry.Chapter four elaborates the right of privacy protection for foreign media.Taking the American industry self-regulation pattern and the EU legal regulation as examples,it conducts a comparative study of foreign privacy protection models, thus we could draw lessons from its advanced experience and explore the we-media privacy protection model that is suitable for China. The fifth chapter mainly discusses the improvement of China's personal privacy protection system under the background of we-media,that is to establish the basic position of privacy in the constitution and the right of privacy in civil law,to improve the self-regulation and to raise public awareness of self-protection.It also looks forward to improving the path of privacy protection in the context of we-media in China.
