On the borders of the four countries of Turkey,Iran,Iraq and Syria in the Middle East have a large number of Kurds live.Iraqi Kurds fought for nominal autonomy in 1970 after a long struggle. After the 1991 Gulf War and the U.S.overthrust of Saddam Hussein's rule in Iraq in 2003,Iraqi Kurds have established a highly autonomous region in Iraq, and Kurds have also become a key political role in Iraq. The high degree of autonomy in this area has motivated Kurds in other places to seek cultural, social, and even political autonomy, which in turn affects the stability of the country concerned. The introduction of this article mainly explains the situation of Iraqi Kurds studying at home and abroad, discusses the necessity of studying Iraqi Kurdish, and expounds the significance of the topic and the research methods. The first chapter mainly introduces the basic history and situation of the Kurds and the origin of the Kurdish issue in Iraq.Through the introduction,we can see the complexity of the Kurdish issue in Iraq. The second chapter mainly describes the political status of Iraqi Kurds before the Baath Party's rule.Through this analysis of the political status of Iraqi Kurds,we can see that the successive central governments of Iraq have adopted a policy of avoiding the political status of the Kurds. When the domestic situation is turbulent and the Central Government needs a stable society to restore its own strength, the Central Government has used Kurdish people to appease and promise to reassure Kurds(partial conditions proposed by the Kurds were really difficult for the Central Government at that time).Once the central government basically controlled the situation and began to refuse to acknowledge part of the promises, this led to a deadlock in the relations between the two parties. The third chapter mainly describes the Kurdish nominal autonomy in the early period of the Ba'athist Party's rule. After the Ba'ath Party took power, the Kurds and the Ba'athist government reached an agreement to give the Kurds the rightto autonomy. However, there was a great deal of disagreement between the two sides over the scope of the autonomous region and the division of the autonomy rights of the Kurds, and eventually the Ba'ath Party government imposed the scope of the autonomous region and established the Kurdish regional government of the pro-Bemowe party government.During this period, the Kurdish leaders were mainly in conflict with each other's interests. The Kurdish Democrats also fell apart, making it easy for the Ba'ath government to control the Kurdistan region. The fourth chapter is the focus of this article. It focuses on the fact that Iraqi Kurds fought for limited autonomy after the Gulf War and achieved a high degree of autonomy after the Iraq war;but the Kurds still need to deal with the conflicts of internal Kurdish and the Iraqi central government. The question of the political status of the future Kurdistan autonomy remains to be observed and studied. The epilogue summarizes the evolution of the political status of Iraqi Kurds.
