The Experience And Thought Renewal Of The Intellectuals Driven By Frontier

The "frontier" has rich in connatation,and it is not only a geographical concept,but also a political concept,and a cultural concept,which is different from the central area in a country.In China,frontier is very important for national unity,territorial integrity and social stability,because the frontier is not only a special geographical position,but also it is an agglomeration of ethnic minorities.In all ages,whether the border and the inland,or the minority and the Han nationality,they have both the same point and the difference.How to correctly describe the frontier and understand the frontier is worth studying.With the advance of "The Belt and Road Initiatives"policy,how to understand the history and the future of frontier has become a hot topic.However,the border area is far away from the national political and economic center,with the limit of time and space,most of the audience can not directly know about border areas.So the media has become the main method for us to get information about the border area.Therefore,how to understand the frontier through the media is important.Especially in the omnimedia time,the media has become a part of life,so the frontier is easy to become a hot spot for public discussion.As the"conscience of society" and "social regulator",they are particularly important to the discourse power and public opinion orientation of hot topic.Therefore,the author tries to connect the frontier,the media and the intellectuals,and try to examine how the intellectuals describe the frontier as well as imagine the frontier through the media.The mass media was not developed when People's Republic of China was just founded.Intellectuals went to the border areas for investigation and travel.They not only see the new features of the border areas,but also provide a first-hand information about frontier for audience.As to research methods,the paper use content analysis,text analysis and document analysis.The article studies the frontier reports by intellectuals during October 1,1949-1956 December 30th.The main research text are the reports published in the "People's Daily" intellectual,complemented by communication notes and travel notes.The reports focus on the new face and new life in border areas,and show the prosperity of the frontier construction and the unity,and the love of all nationalities and the identity of the nation.The intellectuals from different stratum and background experienced the national unity,national liberation,economic recovery,the problem of farmers' land soved and so on.And those achievements made by the Chinese Communist Party have made the intellectuals sincerely convinced and feel ashamed of their inferiority.The process of the intellectuals to inspect the frontier has also become the path of their experience and thought renewal,so that they have finished imagining family,country and nation,and realized the change of thought and the change of political identity.Finally,not only dose the paper analyze the contents,frameworks,time and narrative ways of communication,but also put forward some suggestions,and proposes that not only should the intellectuals be connected with the society as well as the public,but also have the sense of responsibility of the motherland.
