Historically, the Malvinas Islands have been a constant source of sovereignty disputes. After lengthy negotiations between the two countries, the Argentine military government suddenly decided to use force to invade the islands in 1982,thus putting the already troubled Thatcher administration in a more difficult predicament.Although the United Kingdom failed to anticipate the war in time before the Falklands war broke out,the Thatcher administration took advantage of the response and implemented a series of positive diplomatic strategies. While doing a good job of preparing for the military,it will give full play to its diplomatic initiative and mobilize all parties to exert pressure on Argentina.Although Britain finally declared the end of the war by military victory,British diplomatic mobilization not only won enough time for the British military operations, but also won the support of international public opinion, the support of the Argentine sanctions and the British operations required supplies and intelligence support. It can be said that the achievements made by the British diplomatic strategy have laid a solid foundation for the success of its military operations. This article consists of three parts: introduction, body and conclusion. The introduction part introduces the purpose and significance of the research, the structure of the thesis, research methods and innovations, the research status at home and abroad, the original archives and so on.The body is divided into three parts. The first part sorts out the origin of the Falklands issue and the negotiation process between the two sides. The second part is the focus of this article, mainly through the interpretation of the original file to analyze Thatcher government's diplomatic actions against the United Nations, the United States, the European Community and other countries as well as Britain's diplomatic strategy. The third part analyzes the enlightenment of Thatcher's government diplomacy in the Falklands War.The conclusion part mainly summarizes and summarizes the Thatcher government's diplomatic strategy in the Falklands War,and refines and sublimates themain thrust of the article. At the same time,it points out the significance of its diplomatic strategy in the current island sovereignty dispute.
