After the end of World War II,MacArthur arrived in Japan from August 30,1945,until April 28,1952.The "San Francisco Peace Treaty" officially came into effect.Japan was actually under the separate occupation and control of the United States.In order to ensure that Japan will no longer be a threat to world peace and security and urge Japan to finally establish a peaceful and responsible government,the US occupation authorities are also destructing Japan's war capabilities,eliminating militarism and extremist influences,and also Japan's politics,economy,and Social and cultural reforms have been carried out in all aspects of democratization.This thesis takes soft power theory as the starting point,and interprets the soft power of the American occupation policy of Japan during the occupation period.In order to retain Japan in the Western camp for a long period of time,the United States has established a long-term international cultural strategic goal in Japan and implemented "soft power" in all aspects.That is,it strengthens its propaganda on the United States,expands its cultural exchanges with Japan,and makes Japanese and American cultures.Institutionalization of exchanges,thereby establishing and consolidating a people's foundation for understanding the United States and its culture.At the same time,in order to cultivate and nurture a pro-American and liberal Japanese leader who supports the US's extensive foreign policy,the strategic elite of the United States has also established a disciplinary system of American studies in the Japanese intellectual world.The influence of soft power is usually positive and negative,and although the US soft power has had a positive impact on Japan's demilitarization and democratization reforms during the occupation period,in the long-term US soft realism caused the post-war Japan.The impact is negative.With the "Truth Movement" unfolding,the "tolerant" soft power of the United States not only caused Japanese intellectuals' long-term reliance on the United States,but also brought decadent commercialism and mass consumerism to the Japanese people.
