In the Web2.0 age,Micro-blog have been involved in public life and public affairs deeper and deeper because of its ’features such as real-time,ubiquitous and interactive.Sino-US relations is the most important bilateral relations in the world.Studying the China-related micro-dissemination of the U.S.government has great significance for guiding China’s external communication and diplomacy.This paper uses methods like framed-structure analysis and critical discourse analysis to analyze 264 micro-blogs of two representative accounts——"@The American Embassy in China" and”@realDonaldTrump" in 2017,and find that the China-related micro-dissemination of the U.S.government has some distinctive features.For example,the contents,with strong authority,usually come from the U.S.itself.The topics cover almost all the areas through political diplomacy,economy and trade to culture and art.The forms are various with the excellent use of new media technology.During the process of micro-dissemination,the U.S.government’s attitude is usually neutral.The goverrnment of the U.S.also use some discourse strategies such as the predicate strategy,debate strategy,which reflect the asymmetry of the power,as well as the American ideology.The China-related micro-dissemination of the U.S.government finally plays a great role in improving the international discourse power of the United States and dividing up the Chinese users.But at the same time,it also causes a lot of derivative effects,such as deepening the stereotype of some Chinese.In general,China need to upgrade the diplomatic ability and communication capacity to the U.S.by setting up the international agenda,enriching the content of communication,changing the mode of transmission,creating a full media platform and playing the role of public diplomacy.And to enhance Chinese discourse power and promote the healthy and stable development of Sino-US relations ultimately. |
