As a modern issue and discourse,self-identity has increasingly become an extremely important topic in contemporary social life.Enhancing people's self-identity is of great significance to both the individual and society. In recent years, scholars at home and abroad have obtained rich research achievements in the theories of self-identity,different kinds of groups5 self-identity,influence factors and effects of self-identity,and this study will focus on the self-identity of Chinese youth age of 16-23 from the perspective of social capital. This study is based on the data of China Family Panel Studies(CFPS)in 2016,first of all,it researches the self-identity condition of Chinese youth age of 16-23 from two aspects-self—affirmation and self-realization.Secondly,it researches the influence factors of self-identity from three aspects—control variables(which includes gender, age, household registration, health condition and disposable income),the negative social factor namely perceiving of social contradictions(which includes whether the youth suffered injustice or discrimination, the evaluation of various social problems),the affirmative social factor namely social capital(which includes social trust, social interaction, and community participation)through factor analysis, multiple regression analysis and other methods. The results show that the degree of self-affirmation of the Chinese youth is affected by both perceiving of social contradictions and social capital, they successively are acquaintances‘trust, social interaction, the evaluation of various social problems according to the importance principle. The degree of self-realization is only affected by social capital, perceiving of social contradictions does not have a significant impact on it,they successively are social interaction, acquaintances' trust according to the importance principle. In general, social capital has greater influence on self-identity of Chinese youth age 16-23 than perceiving of social contradictions. Finally, the author puts forward some suggestions on how to strengthen Chinese youth's self-identity.
